Abraham I Am

I wrote this script one month before the world knew the human called George Floyd. It was a narration for a video that I was editing, and then came the infamous moment that made headlines around the world. Please read!

I am calling on all artists who would like to use their gift of art as a catalyst to transform this moment into an opportunity for us to connect with humanity at a higher level. Artist, share with us your vision of what we are experiencing right here, right now on Mother Earth.

There are many sources of inspiration that you can pull from. The choice is yours; be inspired.

This artistic approach is an effort to get us out of the box. We usually see and think in a religious, political, or corporate manner, and these mindsets have very little room for ambiguity and creativity.

I am hopeful that the Abraham Project will encourage us to step away from hardline thinking, biases, and judgment long enough to become a society of compassion. Hopefully, the art will speak in a language that we all can understand, no matter where we are mentally, physically, or emotionally. Stepping away from this noisy environment so that we can obtain clarity, address the obstacles before us, and have a vision of a better tomorrow will benefit us all. Share your art on every platform that you can.

I hear people repeat this mindless cliché: ‘And this too shall pass.’ But it will not pass without leaving an impact on society. This cliché will not become true on its own; we must make an effort to lessen the impact of this moment in time on all of us.

When we encounter devastation, there must be a plan for cleaning, fixing, building, and rebuilding; we cannot live among the debris and believe that it will be an environment that is conducive to sustaining a healthy society.
If we do not deal with this disruption of life correctly, it will affect us as time goes on. Injuries and tragedies don’t go away; they must be addressed accordingly.

I believe that everyone will be affected in some form or fashion. We mustn’t discount what people are feeling. Let compassion be the governing force when we interact with each other. Everyone has a story to tell. We will not know every story, so let’s be mindful that this occurrence has touched everyone among us.

We are all human, not superman and superwoman.

We have to prepare for the grieving process, which may manifest as sadness, anxiety, or anger, and we don’t know who may be on edge. We need to be there for each other; let us have patience, give space, and support those in need. I have a strong reason to believe that the transition to a new, so-called normal state will have difficulties, and we are not prepared for those challenges. So, when the time comes, let us not react; instead, let us respond by adopting and embracing these principles. Take responsibility. Do not blame others. Have compassion. Be patient. Be selfless. Commit to peaceful and productive resolutions when facing the challenges that are coming your way. Be resilient. They used to say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks; science has proven that wrong, so be plastic.

Though we will return to some state of normalcy, many will return to that state of normalcy alone after having lost a loved one. How will that new state of normalcy look for them?

We cannot Thrive as a divided nation.

I am deeply concerned about our divided nation. I concerned that several organizations are saying very divisive things that separate us even more as a nation.
We are already divided; we do not need anyone to throw more fuel on the fire.
The anger, hate, and frustration can be a pandemic on its own worse than any epidemic we have ever experienced.
We must have a sense of tranquility.

We must create a no war zone here in America; we must stop fighting amongst ourselves, for it is true that divided we fall.
Where are we at this moment in time, and where do we go from here, is the question?

People, we have a choice, we have a decision to make; we can choose to live together in peace or buy into the belief that to dominate one another is the path to peace.
Our mission is to be a mentally and emotionally stable America; our well-being depends on it.

If we believe everyone will come through this without being negatively affected, we are sorely mistaken. The truth is that it will be more challenging for some than for others. There’s no shame in becoming overwhelmed by the rapidly changing landscape of our world. But by preparing ourselves, we are never reacting but responding. Adversity can be a little scary; however, do not fight your way through this, create your way through this. Please do not waste your time blaming others; we have work to be done. Be nimble; be quick. Be agile, don’t be fragile; let’s move forward and create our own new normal. Please don’t allow anyone to create it for us.
The Abraham Project focuses on peace and healing.
